Here are some fun facts and holidays in October:

October was originally the eighth month in the Roman calendar, hence its name derived from the Latin word "octo," meaning eight.

Halloween, celebrated on October 31st, is one of the most well-known holidays in October. It originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter.

Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a traditional Mexican holiday that begins on October 31st and extends to November 2nd. It honors deceased loved ones and involves vibrant celebrations, including parades, special foods, and offerings at altars.

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer, promoting early detection, and supporting those affected by the disease.
